This letter informs Scheme Creditors of the Effective Date of the Scheme on 16th June 2009 and the Claims Submission Date of 15th December 2009. A set of Claim Forms and instructions is enclosed with the letter. Potential creditors will also find enclosed a schedule of Scheme Reinsurance Contracts as they appear in DRUK's records.

Over 90% of Scheme Creditors voted for the Scheme in the Creditor's Meeting. Independent Chairman, Frank Attwood, summarises the voting process and the final voting valuation in his report.

On 16 June 2009 the High Court of Justice of England and Wales sanctioned the DRUK Scheme. A copy of the Order sanctioning the Scheme was delivered to the Registrar of Companies in England and Wales on 16 June 2009, and the Scheme accordingly became effective on that date (the "Effective Date").

This letter highlights DRUK´s intention to consider a solvent scheme of arrangement following the transfer of reinsurance business. The arrangement is being considered in order to finalise the
liabilities of Deutsche Rück UK Reinsurance Company Limited ("DRUK").

The captioned letter dated 10.09.2008 was sent to potential Scheme Creditors. 

"Order was made in the leave to convene hearing on 12th Feb. 2009. The High Court of Justice of England and Wales has directed that a meeting of the Scheme Creditors be held."
